Coffee Press allows coffee’s natural oils to retain in the brew instead of being trapped in the paper filter. The result is a flavorful and full-bodied cup of coffee.
Grind Coffee Beans
Grind 36g of coffee beans to the size of regular sand. Boil 660ml of water to 93.5°C. Use a high-quality conical burr or flat burr grinder. Do not use a blade grinder (looks similar to a blender). Grind coffee beans just before brewing to yield the best cup.
Pour hot water into the Press to preheat. Discard the water.
Add ground coffee to the Press chamber. Pour 540ml of hot water (93,5°C) into the chamber, put on the lid. To facilitate water measurement, place the chamber on a digital scale before adding water; otherwise, prepare the amount of water needed beforehand.
Let the coffee steep for 2 minutes. Open the lid, stir gently, and add the remaining 120ml of hot water. Skim oils and floating grounds off the top of the brew. Close the lid. Wait for another 2 minutes.
Slowly push the plunger down until the filter reaches the bottom of the Press. Pour the brew into cups and serve. Do not let the brew sit in the Press.
