Guatemala Specialty Coffee: Puerta Verde
Located in the valley of Antigua, Guatemala, Finca Puerta Verde is a 41-hectare farm, uniquely positioned in the fertile volcanic soil of Antigua. The farm has been producing some of the best coffee in the region. The coffee plants were grown under canopies of Grevillea trees which protect the coffee from direct sunlight and provide important habitat for local birds and insects. Ripe coffee cherries were handpicked and hand-sorted for the best quality before being pulped and sun-dried on patios. Puerta Verde won 7th place at the 2009 Cup of Excellence®.

Guatemala Specialty Coffee: San Pedro Necta
Huehuetenango, on the side of El Tapón Mountain, features many microclimates and high altitudes up to 1,850 meters. The area is one of the famous coffee-producing regions in Guatemala, Central America. The main varieties grown by members of the Association of Integrated Development of San Pedro Necta (ASODESI) are Bourbon, Pache, Caturra. Over the past few years, sustainable production practices have become more difficult due to climate change. ASODESI has helped its members adapt to the changing climate cycles by providing training in seeding, preparation, and fertilizing. The program contributes to the protection of the environment by creating a foundation for productive and long-term organic agriculture.
