Hydro Jet™ is a breakthrough technology in the coffee roasting industry. The roaster provides exact time and temperature control with the accuracy of up to 0.5°F. A colorimeter ensures that roast color is within a margin of error of ±5 Agtron.

Not all coffee beans are made equal. In the same batch, larger coffee beans are riper and taste better. We use in-season Grade 1 (18/64” screen size) coffee beans of the highest quality, sourced directly from suppliers who hold certificates in environmental protection and fair-trading.

Producing excellent roasted coffee beans is a scientific and artistic process requiring accuracy and sophistication. The same goes for packaging, which we hold to an incredibly high standard. Coffee bags from 1864 CAFÉ® are food safe, with five layers of protection providing effective barriers against light and moisture. Each bag also comes with a one-way degassing valve to prevent oxidation and a zip closure for convenient use.

The area is a well-known Robusta coffee growing region with an annual production ranked first in the world. Robusta has high caffeine content, possibly up to 4%. Thunder No.1 is great for making iced coffee with sweetened condensed milk and will deliver a rich and super refreshing cup of coffee. Due to its high amount of caffeine, do not consume after late afternoon or when you are hungry. If you are sensitive to caffeine, check with your doctor first. Available in both whole bean and ground.
